Yorktown FIRST Robotics Team Fundraising Appeal
We would like to introduce Yorktown FIRST Robotics Team 9033, representing Yorktown High School in Arlington, Virginia.
Team 9033, known as the Ocebots, is a dynamic high school robotics team proudly led by students from Yorktown High School in Arlington, Virginia. Our primary focus is on supporting the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) Programs. Team 9033 strives to create nurturing environments that empowers students to apply their knowledge of Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, and engineering principles to address real-world challenges. We are seeking commercial sponsors to support our advancement in this year’s challenge coming up soon – in January 2024!
About FIRST: FIRST is a leading organization in the promotion of STEM. Its mission is to inspire young people to be science and technology leaders, by engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs that inspire innovation and foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership
About the Team: The team members aspire to successful careers in science and engineering and will benefit from the opportunity to learn new skills in areas such as computer programming, electronics, graphics and design, engineering, analysis and statistics, as well as in teamwork, responsibility, and professionalism. The team practices once – twice per week after school to prepare for the competition inJanuary 2024. We embarked on our journey in FRC in 2023 as a rookie team. As one of the few public-school-based FRC teams in Arlington County Public Schools (APS), our mission is to promote accessibility to robotics and engineering education for all students, with a particular emphasis on those who are underprivileged. Notably, in our very first competition, we proudly achieved five awards, showcasing our dedication and excellence in the field of robotics and engineering. Beyond our commitment to FRC, we are equally dedicated to spreading the joys and opportunities of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) to younger students, fostering a passion for learning and innovation from an early age.
Call for Sponsors: Our program relies on volunteers and the team needs partners and support to maintain this high level of performance. All donations are fully acknowledged and, as partners, our sponsors share in the wonderful experience that only FIRST competitions can provide. In return for support, we post company names and logos on our competition “pit,” our team t-shirts, and even our robot. Please see the remainder of
this packet for sponsorship opportunities, and other ways to help this amazing team of future tech leaders!
Thank you!
